Date Posted: Wed Mar 21 2007

The director of the Center for Educational Technologies® presented two papers at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference on his research of Saturn's moon Titan and previewed an early version of the new videogame the center is developing as part of its NASA research into videogaming.

Chuck Wood, director of the center and the Classroom of the Future™, made the presentations at the 38th annual Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in League City, TX, March 12-14.

Wood was also interviewed by the BBC at the conference, and the story was featured on the BBC's web site.

Wood is a member of the radar mapping team of the Cassini-Huygens mission, which is orbiting Saturn. Wood's papers, "How Titan Works" and "Volcanic Craters in the North Polar Region of Titan," review some of the latest findings on Saturn's large moon Titan.

In addition, Wood demonstrated an early version of the Selene videogame, which focuses on the origin and evolution of the moon, to get feedback from lunar experts. The game will be unveiled in May as part of a NASA-funded study by the Classroom of the Future into videogaming.
