Cassie designed the ¡Sí! ¡Sí! ¡Selene! booth and materials for the CyGaMEs Spanish Selene exhibit at the 2013 National Association of Bilingual Education (NABE) annual conference. Her design included an 8-panel–9’ X 7’ display, raffle tickets, MoonGazer Wheel giveaway packaging, and brochures. According to the Graphic Design USA, the magazine has sponsored competitions for 50 years. This year, the editors added the Hispanic Design Awards to “recognize the growing influence and important contribution of the Hispanic community to commerce and culture in the United States.” Cassie’s winning entry is featured in the October issue of the magazine as “outstanding graphic design and advertising being developed to reach the Hispanic market.”

At CyGaMEs and across the CET organization, staff and leadership recognize the value Lightfritz adds to the organization. In the words of programmer Andrew Harrison, “Cassie makes our work look good.” Lightfritz created all CyGaMEs branding, and the quality of her CyGaMEs graphic design is recognized by the public and funding officials whenever we take CyGaMEs on the road.

NABE is a CyGaMEs partner in the effort to bring the Selene STEM opportunity to Spanish-speaking learners of English. NABE has featured Lightfritz’s design in the 2013 conference program (full page) and in its October Perspectives magazine (two-page feature http://selene.cet.edu/Default.aspx?page=news&id=112 ) and on the main page of its website.

The winning CyGaMEs team included Lightfritz (art director and designer), Debbie Denise Reese (principal investigator), Janis Worklan (editor), and Nieves Leticia Martín Hernández (Spanish localization).
